Hillis-Carnes Welcomes Certified Industrial Hygienist
Daniel Farcas, Ph.D., CIH, CSP, has joined our Washington, D.C. office as a Certified Industrial Hygienist. Daniel brings with him over 20 years of experience in Environmental Consulting and Industrial Hygiene services. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry and an M.A. in System’s Ecology and Sustainable Development from Bucharest University, Romania. He also holds an M.S. in Forestry and a Ph.D. in Human and Community Development from West Virginia University.
Daniel is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), as well as an Asbestos Inspector, Analyst, and Designer. His technical experience includes planning, organizing, and conducting Industrial Hygiene (IH) and environmental surveys, including field measurements and laboratory analyses. He has experience performing Environmental Emergency Response Coordination, Hazardous Building Materials Surveys, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Investigations and Testing, Comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance Program, Mold Assessments, Remediation Work Plans, and Project Management.
Not only is Daniel an accomplished researcher who has published several peer-reviewed journal articles, but he recently attended the 2019 American Industrial Hygienists Conference (AIHce) where he won Best Volunteer Group Student Poster for his research project on the “Survival of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa on the Outer Shell of Fire.” We are very excited to have him on board and look forward to the expertise he will be contributing to Hillis-Carnes and our District of Columbia office!
