Hillis-Carnes Purchases Geoprobe® 7822DT Drill Rig to Offer Expanded Drilling Capabilities
Hillis-Carnes is excited to announce we recently purchased a track-mounted Geoprobe® 7822DT to add additional versatility to our existing drill fleet and expand our drilling capabilities.
The new drill rig attaches to a narrow platform track-base and weighs under 10,000 pounds which allows our team to drill on various terrains, including rugged, soft, and muddy. There is a minimal disturbance of site conditions and this eliminates unnecessary and costly undercutting of soils. The rig can be easily transported to a variety of residential, private properties, and remote areas, making this drill rig the most versatile and cost-effective in our fleet.
The technical and performance capabilities of the Geoprobe® 7822 Drill Rig include:
-Ability to perform seismic and electronic cone penetration testing (CPT), as well as Flat Pate Dilatometer (DMT) testing up to 200 l.f.
-A four-speed rotary head and automatic SPT hammer capable of supporting hollow stem augers up to six inches in diameter and rotary mud drilling up to 100 l.f.
-A GH 63 percussion hammer that can perform direct push environmental sampling projects up to 100 l.f.
-Capability to install four-inch diameter monitoring wells and gas vapor probes.
Jerry Johnson, Vice President, and Delmarva Regional Manager noted that, “The best thing about this unit is its unparalleled flexibility. Now we have one unit that can go to a project and conduct environmental sampling, standard penetration testing (SPT), and in-situ testing, that can be adjusted daily if needed.”
We’re eager to put the Geoprobe® 7822DT Drill Rig to work on your next project. Have a task in mind? Get in touch by contacting us here.
