SUBSURFACE EXPLORATION / DRILLING:
Hillis-Carnes maintains twelve (12) variably mounted drill rigs to perform subsurface sampling, testing and monitoring well installation. The drill rigs vary in carrier size, mast height, and torque so that we offer the flexibility to drill with a variety of power given the terrain conditions. This flexibility allows us to perform soil borings, rock coring or install monitoring wells in most types of environments. Hillis-Carnes also has a portable cathead in order to drill sites that are inaccessible by a drill rig.
In addition to the drill rigs, Hillis-Carnes has and operates a Case Extend-A-Hoe. With our own hauling capabilities, a faster turnaround time can be achieved for performing test pits, identifying conditions of existing foundations and performing environmental subsurface explorations. All crews have completed the OSHA 40 hour training and 8 hour refresher courses.
